Rottweiler Hilariously ‘Encourages’ Puppy To Swim During A Lesson
Every dog should learn how to swim. But at the beginning they are understandably a bit scared and need encouragement to jump in the water. This sets the scene of this hilarious video clip of a recent swimming lesson for Charlie the Golden Retriever puppy. His mom is in the backyard pool trying to coax him off the swim ladder but he doesn’t look too enthusiastic. Behind Charlie is George, a lovable Rottweiler who already knows how to swim.
As mom tries to encourage Charlie to jump in the water, she has to tell George to wait because the big dog is ready for a swim. “Stay back until Charlie gets in,” mom says to George.
As mom continues to encourage Charlie, George comes up next to the pup and paws the water as if trying to show his little brother what to do!
Now, what happens next has us wondering if George was going for encouragement or if he’s simply eager to get into the water himself. Because the next thing we see is George giving Charlie a “helpful” nudge right into the water. Splash!

Mom can’t help but let out an exasperated “Oh George” before the video cuts out so she can tend to Charlie.
It’s as if you can hear George saying, “I’m not waiting anymore!” But then again he could have been helping Charlie work up the courage to jump in.
The funny moment has gotten over a million views because it’s so similar to what happens with human families at the pool.
Fans of George on TikTok couldn’t help but laugh at the dog’s attitude. Debbieutterback78 had the astute observation that “George is like the Dad that throws you in the deep-end of the pool & says sink or swim!”
