Puppy Cruelly Abandoned with Zip Tie Around Her Throat Saved By Truck Driver
A trucker travelling along a freeway in Arizona came to the rescue of a puppy “cruelly abandoned with a zip tie secured tightly around her throat.”
The trucker was driving on the Interstate 10 freeway in Benson, Arizona just before Halloween when he saw the puppy beside an exit ramp. He immediately stopped and removed the zip tie, gave her water and kept her safe until a trooper arrived to help, the Arizona Department of Public Safety wrote on Facebook.
Arizona DPS continued, “Trooper Iliana Magallanes responded to the scene and found the puppy with a swollen neck and bloodshot eyes, but still friendly and happy despite her ordeal. Trooper Magallanes secured a spot for the puppy with Benson Animal Shelter and made sure to keep her comfortable with a blanket and plenty of attention before transporting her there.”
They added, “After a checkup and treatment for a few medical issues, Benson Animal Shelter says the puppy is doing remarkably well and is in a foster home pending adoption.”
Brandy, as the shelter named her, went into foster care with the manager of the Benson Animal Shelter, Paws and Claws where she recovered from the strangulation from the zip tie as well as from some burns and parasites. They shared some great news just one day later. They wrote, “She is doing Amazingly great! She has a home once she is spayed and fully recovered from her tragic event.”
Just four days after her rescue, Brandy is in her new home and “she’s living the best life,” the shelter shared, along with some cute photos. “She is a fighter and thankfully she has no long term effects from the torture she went through.” They declared, “She is a “survivor of animal cruelty.”
That she is! And it sure looks like Brandy is quickly adjusting to her new soft bed and loving home!
