Couple Rush To Save Senior Beagle Being Given Away for Free Online

A photo of a senior beagle with the comment “Needs to be gone this weekend” caught Taylor’s eye and she knew immediately she wanted to rescue the dog being given away for free on Facebook. So she and her boyfriend drove for three hours to get “Maple.”

As soon as they got Maple in the car they could tell how neglected she was. She smelled, she was soaking wet and her nails were overgrown and she didn’t want to move. In fact, Maple slept in the same spot for a few days. She stayed curled up in a little ball and was obviously “shell shocked” and exhausted from her past experiences.

Thankfully, Taylor’s other rescue dog Cooper made a huge difference. The two rescue dogs instantly clicked. Cooper helped Maple know that she could move around. Said Taylor, “She wasn’t used to being spoiled and loved.”

“She started off as this really, really closed-off and really shy dog, and now she wants to explore everything,” she said of Maple. Maple also has the sweetest “little army crawl” she does to show her family how happy she is.

Now Maple can’t wait to go to the beach with her pal Cooper.

And it’s recently been Maple’s one year “Gotcha” day anniversary. It’s clear Maple has come out of her shell and is loving life with her new family.
