Elderly Woman Approaches Rescuers To Help Her with Mangy Puppy Found on Street
Little Steps Matter Foundation in Bali helps countless stray dogs and cats struggling to survive with their street feeding and treatment programs. They do a lot of community outreach as a result, helping assist locals in caring for the animals in their community.
Recently, while out on one of their street feeding tours they were approached by an elderly woman who needed help with Ciku, a mangy puppy she had rescued. Abu Kori’s nephew had spotted Ciku dumped on the street and brought the 7-month-old puppy back to her. The pup’s skin was so severely damaged that her hairless body was covered with open wounds and she was extremely itchy, Little Steps Matter wrote on social media.
Not having the funds or resources to take Ciku to the vet, Abu had unsuccessfully tried to cure Ciku with traditional medicine. Fortunately, the kind woman reached out to Little Steps Matter Foundation.
They immediately gave Ciku treatment to combat the mange. She’s also getting medicated shampoo to help her feel better and combat the mites. One week later, Ciku is already feeling better.
Once she’s healed they will vaccinate her and spay her as well. All simple things, but things the rescue organization couldn’t do without support.
Little Steps Matter says that the donations and support they receive helps dogs just like Ciku and wrote, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being by our side to make this world a better place.”
