Drone Captures Dramatic Rescue of Dog After Cliff Fall
A drone captured the dramatic moment a missing dog was rescued from a dangerous seaside cliff in England.
Lily, a three-year-old dog, went missing during a walk with her guardian, prompting her family to ask for help on social media. A group of nine volunteers joined the search for Lily but had to stop when darkness fell.
“I went with eight others searching in the dark until 10 p.m.,” one volunteer told SWNS. “We heard oystercatchers squawking at the bottom of the cliff and decided to reconvene at first light.” The volunteer added, “After my night shift, we returned at 7 a.m. and headed to the area of bird disturbance.”
Among the searchers was a drone operator, who scanned the sheer cliffs around the coast of Les Landes in Jersey. The drone revealed a “large white object” at the bottom of the cliffs—it was Lily!
With Lily’s location confirmed, another volunteer, a skilled rock climber, descended the cliff to rescue her.
Lily looked visibly relieved as help arrived. Thankfully, she suffered only a few grazes. She was carried back to the car park, where she was joyfully reunited with her family.
