Spaniel’s Tail Wags So Fast It Could Start A Fire
A spaniel named Cali is taking the Internet by storm thanks to her fast-wagging tail. Her Scottish dad, who works in sports fishing and hunting often takes her to work to retrieve fowl.
The activity is one of her favorite things to do in the whole world and when she anticipates that she’ll be called to go fetch game her tail wags in excitement. Her dad, who shares videos on TikTok under Akieside Fly Tying, recently filmed one such moment and captioned the video, “Excited much wee dug?”
Watch Cali’s tail in action in the video below:
Cali is sitting in the forest waiting to be called to retriever, her little tail moving furiously back and forth in the Autumn leaves and dirt. Just look at that tail go!
“I’ve never seen one move so fast,” a viewer commented. Akieside Fly Tying responded, “You should see her on a runner.”
Akieside Fly Tying shared another adorable video of Cali at work, captioning the video, “She’s at it again at her happiest waiting on the ducks coming in. Watching the pigeons flying over.”
In fact, Cali’s nickname is “the red rocket” because she is so quick on her feet.
Other people noted Cali’s tail wags so fast she could start a small forest fire. Another wrote, “That’s the best and fastest leaf mower I’ve ever seen.”
One viewer asked about Cali’s partially docked tail (it’s something no longer done in Britain for pets but Akieside Fly Tying explained, “She’s docked because she’s a wcs!! Working cocker spaniel and working in heavy cover their tails get split & burst. Dock is a way to prevent this. [ed: wcs means Working Cocker Spaniel, a designation for working dogs (in this case hunting dogs) and, as Akieside explains, docking is a way of preventing injury and harm to the dog].
