Man Who Rescued Stray Dog on Arizona Freeway Giving Her a Loving Home

The Good Samaritan who stepped in to rescue a dog running loose on a freeway in Arizona has now opened his home and heart to her. Recently, a small dog was spotted darting around the I-17 freeway near Camelback Road in Phoenix. Traffic cameras captured the efforts of several Good Samaritans and a DPS trooper trying to save the dog.

The little dog was running along the shoulder when a man stopped and got out of his vehicle to try and catch her. Meanwhile, highway patrol temporarily halted traffic to assist in the rescue. A trooper attempted to catch the dog, but she turned and fled in the opposite direction.

That’s when Marshall Torres stepped in to help the other men. Below is the raw footage of the dog’s rescue from the freeway. Marshall is the man in the neon yellow t-shirt.

Thankfully, Marshall managed to catch the dog, carry her to safety, and put her in his car. He brought the dog home to look after her.

Marshall shared that the dog, whom his kids have named Luna, was malnourished, blind in one eye, and matted and dirty. She had a collar but no tag or microchip. Tricia Delaware, Marshall’s girlfriend, said Luna “deserves to be loved” and described her as a very good girl. Luna is adjusting well to life with the family and getting along with their other dog.

If no one claims Luna, Marshall and Tricia plan to adopt her and provide her with a loving home. Tricia added, “We want her to have the best home and the best care she can have.”

Thank goodness for kind-hearted people like Marshall and the others who refused to give up on rescuing Luna.
