Celebrity Corgi Comes to His Mom’s Rescue After She is Injured During Walk

It turns out that Waldo the Corgi is more than just a social media celebrity. He’s also a hero. Recently, Jess Parker’s routine walk with Waldo suddenly turned into a dangerous situation when she fell down.

Jess was walking with Waldo out back of her home in Ontario, Canada, when she slipped on the ice and heard a terrible crack. Looking down, she realized her foot was mangled and broken. Without a mobile phone, and hidden from view of the main road, she knew she was in serious trouble. She began shouting but was unsure if anyone would be able to hear her. That’s when Waldo sprang into action.

After giving Jess a reassuring kiss on the face, Waldo ran off. She worried where he had gone but then she saw him tugging on a stranger’s pant leg, pulling him towards her! But Waldo wasn’t done—he dashed off again, this time fetching Jess’s husband, who emerged to find a group of people gathered around his injured wife.

Paramedics were called and Jess later learned that without such quick intervention, she could have lost her foot due to blood loss.

Waldo is a regular fixture on social media and is known as “the Lederhosen Corgi” locally, because of a signature outfit he wears at dog events. But now he is being hailed as a hero. Since helping his mom, he’s gotten to pick out a free toy at a local pet store.

He’s also gotten treated to a steak dinner.

Jess is immensely proud of Waldo and his quick-thinking. Reflecting on the ordeal, she said of his heroics, “I had hoped to never find out, but thankfully Waldo passed the ‘Lassie’ test.”
