Puppy Rescued After Spending Days in Freezing Porta Potty

A tiny Pit Bull puppy has found a warm, loving home after being abandoned inside a Porta Potty in a Michigan park.

Grand Blanc Township Police Department received a call from Creasey Bicentennial Park employee Jacob Kross, who discovered the dog while servicing the portable bathrooms.

Police Chief William Renye of the Grand Blanc Township Police Department shared a video updating the public on the case. According to Chief Renye, Jacob found Hank “freezing cold [with] dog feces spread throughout the Porta Potty and pet urine.” The dog had been there for at least two days.

A 25-year-old suspect has been arrested for animal cruelty, according to Chief Renye. The suspect told police she abandoned the puppy after her landlord informed her that Pit Bulls were not allowed. The police chief reminded the public that they would enforce animal cruelty laws and urged people to be responsible, saying, “You chose the animal, the animal didn’t choose you.”

Jacob took the puppy, now named Hank, home when he first found him. He and his wife have decided to give Hank a permanent home. The community has also stepped forward to help Hank. Grand Blanc Veterinary Hospital will be providing the first year of shots to the pup and Petsmart and Pets Supplies Plus of Grand Blanc are donating puppy food.

Jacob’s wife, Jenna Kross, later commented on Facebook that Hank is “very much loved and taken care of now.” She added, “He was super skinny, underweight when my husband found him. We are getting weight back on him. He is doing good and happy.”
