Animal Shelter Volunteer Finds Soothing Solution to Help Anxious Dogs Get Adopted

Animal shelters can be a noisy place. Dogs often barking in fear and confusion, sometimes barking as they eagerly await a “fur-ever” home. That’s why animal shelter volunteer Jeff Molenda wanted to do something to help relax and destress the animals.

He began a fundraiser to get a sound system installed at the shelter. Studies show dogs prefer reggae, but the cats didn’t like it, so they switched to classical music.

The melodic tunes are a win-win for the shelter as not only does the music relax the cats and dogs, it also is helping anxious adopters relax around the animals too, resulting in more adoptions.
