Abandoned Pit Bull Howls Every Morning Looking For His Family
A Pit Bull in Mecca, California didn’t know what to do after he was abandoned by his owners. Every morning for a week, Kona would stand at the edge of the yard of the home of sisters Yolanda and Priscilla and howl.
The dog would look down the street and start howling as if calling for his owner to return. Neighbors threw rocks and sticks at him, but the two sisters gave him food and water. They knew the dog, who they named Kona, needed to be rescued so they reached out to The Animal Rescue Center of California (ARC) for help.
ARC asked Yolanda and Priscilla if they could watch Kona overnight and keep him in their house overnight while ARC arranged space for him. The Good Samaritans agreed and the following day ARC co-founder Kirk Geiger drove out to pick up Kona.
Once back at Geiger’s home, Kona enjoyed some play time and got some treats. He seems like such a friendly fellow and deserving of a home. If you or someone you know might be interested in adopting Kona visit the Rescue Center Of California website.
