Abused and Abandoned Dog Gets a Life Filled with Love from the Man Who Rescued Him
Dogs who are rescued never forget the humans who saved them. We are highlighting heartwarming stories of dogs saved from dire situations and then cherished as invaluable family members. This rescue story is Duke’s, whose life changed when David Lowe found him in an abandoned home…
“Duke the Jack Russell came into my life in 2006. I found him in an abandoned house. He had a broken leg. Severely malnourished. And what I thought were ringworm turned out to be cigarette burns. He did not trust humans. I took him to the vet who said he will never trust humans again and suggested euthanasia.
“I couldn’t do it so got treatment and took him home. He instantly trusted me and became best pals with his “partner in crime” Asha.”
“He was my furkid. My child as people said. We were inseparable I called him and Asha my pigeon pair. Sadly I lost Duke two years ago due to him being hit by a car when the lady mounted the curb. Broke my heart and gutted me. He is always in my heart and I will never forget my little man.”
