After Adopted Puppy is Abandoned, His Foster Mom Flies Him 8000 Miles to Come Home
McKenna was playing soccer in Albania when she found a puppy on the side of the road. Blue was far too young to be left on his own so McKenna reached out to the local animal shelter who asked her if she would be willing to foster the puppy until they found him a forever home.
When McKenna, who lives in Hawaii, headed home she parted from Blue but she was relieved when she learned that he was adopted. But that relief was short-lived because 20 days after he was adopted, the people didn’t want him any more and threw him over the wall at the shelter.
“That was the moment I said he needs to come home,” McKenna reveals.
But the journey for Blue would take many months as she waited for a flight volunteer. After 3 months of traveling Blue finally arrived in Hawaii. McKenna burst into tears when she and her partner Thomas went to pick Blue up from the airport. Since Blue has arrived McKenna reveals that he’s been “the best boy ever” and been “a joyful addition to our lives.”
