Bachelor Party’s Canoe Trip Turns Into Dog Rescue Mission

A Minnesota bachelor party’s weekend canoe trip took a turn they weren’t expecting when they spotted a dog in deep trouble. Mitch White and 10 of his friends were paddling up the Minnesota River when they saw a St. Bernard buried up to his head in the mud along the banks of the river.

The 11 men dug around the dog to free him and noticed the dog was exhausted. Mitch said the group had to help the dog, his fiancé wouldn’t marry him if he didn’t. After they helped dig him out they called first responders who found the dog’s family and got him back to them. The dog’s name is “Ed.” Ed’s dad says Ed was missing for a day and couldn’t walk when he first got home but he’s eating and drinking and doing much better now.
