Poor Sparky! The 8-year-old blind Border Collie got stuck in Baisley Pond in Queens, New York and didn’t know how to get out.
New York Police Department received a 911 call to alert them that Sparky was drowning so Officers Williams & Esposito from the 113 Precinct responded to the call. One of the officers waded into the icy cold waters to save Sparky but the senior dog didn’t make it easy.
Body cam footage released by the department recorded the dog rescue:
The officer had to resort to carrying Sparky out – he was pretty tired and cold by the time he got out to the patrol car. Fortunately, Sparky was rescued in time before things took a serious turn. The officers took the lost Border Collie to the emergency vet for treatment where he was later reunited with his family.
