Boy Meets Puppy Mill Survivor and New Best Friend for the First Time
Gracie is a puppy-mill survivor. The sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was adopted by Jen Champion and her family from Hearts United for Animals rescue.
Jen and her husband immediately brought Gracie to their son’s school to meet their then 11-year-old son, Nolan, for the first time. When the two meet, you can tell the two will be the best of friends…and that’s exactly what has happened.
Jen Champion told DogHeirs, “We have had Gracie for 2 weeks now and things are going great. Being that she is 9 years old, she has several ailments including, heart problems and hip, and knee issues, but looking at her today, you would never know it. She runs, hops, digs, chews, and plays like she is a puppy. But after short bursts of energy she is ready to rest and her and Nolan snuggle together on the couch.”
“When Nolan comes home from school, she whimpers when she sees him and she can’t get enough of him,” she added. “They are best friends. He’s a true animal lover and loves his dogs more than anything.”
Hearts of United for Animals wrote of the pair’s first meeting, “We adore the sweet look on his face as he meets his lovely, fragile new friend.”
