Bright Pink Pit Bull Abandoned In Park Wiggles Her Butt When She Sees Rescuers

Stray Rescue of St. Louis came to the rescue of a bright pink Pit Bull after she got abandoned in a park. Apparently, a caller said they saw a man walking the dog. Then he unleashed her and walked away.

Thankfully, two wonderful Good Samaritans saw the dog rolling and scratching in the park and said “we need to stop.” They stayed with her until rescuers arrived.

The sweet dog was suffering from a terrible flea infestation. When Donna Lochmann, Chief Life Saving Officer with Stray Rescue of St. Louis, arrived on the scene she told the dog “you need some furs.” In the video shared by the rescue, the dog responds by wagging her tail happily.

“She’s being eaten away by fleas and would do anything to get out of her own skin,” said Stray Rescue in the video’s description. Her skin is so raw and pink that they describe her as “highlighter pink!” She sure is bright pink! No wonder they’ve named her Pepto.

Even though Pepto is visibly itchy and can’t stop scratching, she is so thrilled with the attention she’s getting that her tail won’t stop wagging.

Soon after arriving at the shelter, Pepto got her first medicated bath and she couldn’t be more thankful. Stray Rescue of St. Louis writes on a Facebook post, “She’s LOVING her bath – Relief, at last!!” They also will give the “sweet little wiggle butt” a Capstar that will kill the fleas.

People who’ve watched Pepto’s video are applauding the Good Samaritans. One viewer writes, “HUGE Thanks and Blessings to the wonderful women who turned their compassion into action and stopped to help this absolute doll of a dog. Animals can’t dial 911; they depend on us to help them.”

“She’s so happy to be rescued,” comments another person. “She knows she’ll have a better life now.”

“This sweet baby is going to be just fine,” her rescuers reassure everyone. But one thing Pepto and other dogs at Stray Rescue of St. Louis need desperately is fosters. They are overfull and outside temperatures in the city are extremely hot, making it dangerous for the strays. Can you help? Visit Strayrescue.org/foster
