Couple Fostering Reactive Cane Corso Gives Him a Much Needed Second Chance

A highly reactive Cane Corso has found a home after his foster family gave him a much needed second chance. Poodle’s previous owner was homeless and had drug issues and sadly the result was that Poodle had very little socialization with people and animals. That’s what Serena learned when she decided she wanted to foster Poodle.

It was instantly clear the moment she brought him home that Poodle had some behavioral issues that made him unpredictable. He had guarding instincts that had to be resolved and misbehaved to the point where Serena’s husband asked her “What did you get us into?”

On top of that, he had some health issues that needed to be taken care of.

Serena says it took a good year of adjusting before they figured it out and now Poodle is her husband’s best friend. When it came time for Poodle to go up for adoption, Serena realized Poodle was already home. He’s not been an easy dog but he has come such a long way since he first arrived at their home and now he’s going to stay with them.

Viewers admire how far Poodle has come thanks to Serena and her husband’s efforts. One person wrote, “Thanks for giving him the chance he really needed. You and your husband are remarkable. The end was so worth the work to get there.”

Another viewer commented, “Not many people are willing to foster a large dog that needs a muzzle to give meds to! Bless this couple–and Poodle is soooo cute.”
