Couple Shocked To Discover Adopted Dog’s Unexpected Tie to Family
A couple who fostered and then adopted a dog named Zoey got a big surprise when they received the results of a DNA test. The pet parents had first spotted Zoey at a shelter and immediately noticed how much she resembled their other dog, Jazz, whom they had adopted a few years earlier.
The shelter was pleading for foster caregivers so they decided to bring the skittish and frightened Belgian Malinois mix home.
It took some time for Zoey to decompress. She was very frightened and wouldn’t let them touch her outside of her kennel and she would snarl at Jazz any time he approached her “safe place.” Despite her fear, Zoey was curious about Jazz, and the two began greeting each other through windowed doors.
About a week and a half later, Zoey was formally introduced to Jazz, and the two hit it off immediately. They began playing together and quickly became best friends. Not long after, Zoey allowed her foster parents to pet her outside her kennel. Before long, the couple decided to adopt her, and within two months, Zoey had fully adjusted to her new family, transforming into a happy and relaxed dog.
That’s when the couple gave Zoey a DNA test and discovered something astonishing. Not only did Zoey look like Jazz, the two were, in fact, biological sisters!
In a heartwarming video shared on Instagram, @jazzandzoeythehuskymalinois wrote, “We found them 2.5 years apart and at two separate shelters over 30 miles away from each other. They were always meant to be together.”
It truly feels like destiny played a role in bringing Zoey home!
