Couple Spot Abandoned Dog on Dirt Road and She Follows Them Home
When Don Akin was out for a walk with his partner Nellie in late October they spotted a dog sitting in the middle of a dirt road in Leesburg, Virginia. When they came back later the Pit Bull was still there. When they approached her, she looked at them with a mixture of curiosity and hope. Although they had no plans of taking her, the dog followed them home.
They fed her and gave her water. They could tell that even though she was young, the dog had had puppies and that her skin was really itchy and damaged in parts. They named her Oreo and decided to take care of her.
Over the following months Oreo healed under Don and Nellie’s care and happily they found her a home with a family. Oreo is very happy now!
People watching the video are happy that Don and Nellie didn’t “leave her there.” “What a transformation. You gave Oreo a new and loving chance at life. Blessings for all,” said one viewer.
