Deaf Pit Bull Found in Dumpster is the Goofiest Couch Surfer Now

When dog foster parent Jess was told there was a deaf and sick Pit Bull puppy needing help, she leapt at the chance to help the 5-month-old dog named Francine. Dark Horse Dogs, who had rescued the dog, told Jess the pup was mangy and deaf, it didn’t deter her. She told GeoBeats that those two things were actually “selling points for her.”

Upon reading Francine’s paperwork Jess discovered the pup had been found in a dumpster. Her guess is that the deaf and ill dog was tossed out by a backyard breeder but no one knows for sure. Francine was really malnourished when she was taken off the streets and she had a lot of health issues for a young pup to overcome. But she didn’t let it phase her and she recovered with Jess’s care.

Jess reveals that Francine’s goofy behavior was clear from the beginning. Francine loves jumping onto the couch and then rolling off and she loves to do many funny, odd things. The smart pup has learned a lot of hand signals and communicates what she wants with her 10 different types of barks.

It soon came time for Francine to go up for adoption. But when Jess kept pushing off Dark Horse Dog’s questions of whether or not Francine was ready to adopt, she realized that Francine wasn’t going anywhere. Now Francine, who Jess says you “can’t sum up,” is officially a member of her family!
