Depressed Newfoundland Dog Refuses to Eat Until He Finds a Loving Family

Newfoundland dogs are big-hearted and love three things – water, naps, and their families. So when Rocky was surrendered to Woodgreen Pets Charity, the staff knew they needed to find him the perfect home and find one fast. That’s because since leaving his previous home, Rocky had grown depressed, lost his appetite, and wasn’t eating well.

The Dog House, a UK television show, stepped in to help Woodgreen find a family for Rocky. They connected with a family who lived by the water and was looking for a dog that would be good with kids and enjoy swimming with them. The show reached out to see if the gentle giant would be a good fit.

When the youngest boy went over to say hello, Rocky responded right away. He also happily accepted treats by hand. The family loved Rocky the moment they laid eyes on him. So what happened next? Rocky went home with them! Now, he enjoys walks on the beach, playing with the kids, and, of course, taking naps.
