Dog Abandoned on Road to Die is Now Cherished by Family

A dog abandoned to die on a road is now safe and loved. When Milan with Dog Shelter Rescue, Serbia, got a call about Albert, they were told he was running back and forth across the road in search of food. He was very skittish and unsure of Milan and barked when he got close. Was he there to help him or hurt him? But Albert’s hunger soon overtook his fear, and he cautiously approached Milan when he saw him offering food.

Milan slowly uses sausage to lure Albert into a cage, which again Albert wasn’t so sure about. But with so many pieces of food to eat, Albert couldn’t resist and he went inside.

Once caught, Milan took Albert to the vets right away, where they learned he had a lot of ticks and a high fever. Tests revealed he had anaplasmosis, a type of bacterial infection spread through tick bites. Albert went into foster care to recover and his happy, loving personality soon came out.

A few months later, Susanne Shine, Ambassador of Denmark to Serbia, saw Albert’s rescue video and fell in love with our beautiful boy. She came to the shelter to adopt him.

Now, Albert has numerous toys, a big garden, and most importantly, is a cherished member of a wonderful family.
