Dog Dumped on the Streets Would Bark at Everything Until She Met Her Mom
A Pit Bull named Stella was picked up in the streets in Atlanta, Georgia after her owners put her out on the street. A neighbor saw her running free and called animal control. She was set to be euthanized but picked up and rescued by Lifeline Project.
While Stella was waiting for someone to adopt her Krista Keough, who lives in Halifax, Canada, had a dream where she saw herself having a grey and white dog. When she looked at Fly with Me Animal Rescue, who works with Lifeline Project, the next day she spotted Stella and decided to adopt her.
When Stella arrived at her new mom’s home she was underweight and had been used for breeding. Krista kept Stella separate from her other dog Apollo for a few weeks but when they finally got together they played.
Stella needed a lot of training to manage her reactivity because she would bark at everything she was unfamiliar with. Krista went through a lot of training herself in order to help Stella and there were times when she felt that maybe she had taken on too much. But when she remembers what Krista went through, she continues to make the effort because Stella is worth it.
Krista has even written a children’s book about Stella entitled Dear Diary, It’s Me Stella.
