Dog Miraculously Escapes Being Crushed Inside Garbage Truck
A small dog waged a dramatic battle to stay alive inside a garbage truck and miraculously survived. Shocking CCTV footage released by the RSPCA Queensland shows the dog fighting for his life as mountains of rubbish pour on top of him.
In what rescuers are calling a “miracle”, the small dog survived the harrowing ride to the landfill in Brisbane, Australia.
“Just last week our Inspectors were called to the Willowbank landfill in Ipswich after a dog was found alive, believed to have been wrapped in a plastic bag with his feet bound,” RSPCA Queensland wrote. “We have since sighted CCTV footage of the small dog, now nicknamed Tippie, fighting for his life inside the garbage truck.”
“In this footage, he can be seen desperately trying to survive as he is forced to ride the torrents of rubbish and debris being continually dropped on top of him.”
“How he survived is nothing short of a miracle,” said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty. “Everyone originally thought that he had been tied up and thrown in a bag, but it’s now apparent that he was badly entangled in debris.”
“It appears that he was hurled in with the bin contents and then whirled around with the rubbish as the crusher blade comes down again and again. No one can believe he’s still alive.”
Tippie is now in RSPCA care and his owner has been visiting him.
RSPCA QLD is calling on anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to contact the Animal Emergency Hotline on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625).
