Woman Heartbroken After Dog Walker Allegedly Forgets Pup in Hot Car and Goes on Cruise

A dog parent is distraught after discovering a dog walker left her dog in a hot car for over 6 hours on one of the hottest days on record in Sydney, Australia. She later found her beloved Keeshond dead in the dog walker’s car after receiving a text message and rushing to the dog’s location to attempt to save him.

Lily Miljovic and her family doted on their Keeshond, Beau. But what was supposed to be a routine outing with a dog walker turned into a horror story when the dog walker left Beau in her car to reportedly go on a cruise.

Miljovic received a text message from Signal Station Dog Walking saying ““I’m really sorry, I think I left your dog in my car.” It is believed the dog walker left Beau in the car after embarking on a cruise.

Miljovic raced to Rose Bay where the dog walker had parked their car in a desperate attempt to rescue her dog.

Passer-by Glenn Herne was returning home with groceries when he was approached by Miljovic.

“She came over very upset and said she thought her dog was locked in a car,” Herne told 9News. “I couldn’t see the dog because the car had tinted windows. The woman was hysterical and in tears. She was inconsolable.”

He helped open the car and found Beau lifeless the back of the car.

When he discovered why Beau was left in the hot vehicle he was in disbelief. “How could you be so careless to just hop on a cruise? It’s ridiculous. I don’t know how you could forget. This woman is supposed to be a dog lover. You could tell by the way she parked her car that she was in a rush,” he told the Australian news channel.

The dog walking service has since removed their website and social media pages.

The RSPCA has been notified and is currently investigating the incident.

But for Miljovic and her family, the grief is almost unbearable. She shared photos of Beau on Facebook, and confirmed with her friends that it was indeed Beau who had died.

This is one of those surreal life moments..I keep hoping to wake from the nightmare and breathe but this our truth.
Rod and I are inconsolable and to those of you that have reached out to us concerned about Beau due to the many press articles and associated social media posts they have read, I am devastated to let you know that it was our precious boy Beau…

Beau tragically died on Tuesday in the most horrific of circumstances.

As strange as this may sound to some…we often say that we don’t remember our life before Beau…he was pure love and joy not only to us as his parents but those that he crossed paths with on his daily adventures. One of my most treasured memories is of a little girl so mesmerised by him saying ‘Mummy look!! The doggy is a real floating cloud!”

Please share this post, Beau is not a statistic nor a stock shot but our cherished boy and we don’t want his death to be in vain.

There has been an outpouring of sadness and outrage since the news broke. Beau often attended Happy Paws Fitness Studio who wrote, “Today we had learned our beloved Beau that regularly attended our daycare passed away! A dog walker left him in the car for over 6 hours on one of the hottest days on record! Beau was a beautiful boy that loved cuddles & tail tickles. He would come to us when he needed toilet & would always kiss us with a ‘thank you’ after his little walk to a shady tree! We will miss him dearly!”
