“Kevin & Waffles 2005-2012 and counting… Why the name Waffles… Believe it or not, it’s from the movie, Shrek. When my son, Kevin, was 5 he decided he wanted a wiener dog. He had to wait several years because he has pretty bad allergies and he had to get a little older and then go through a year of allergy shots before we could have a dog live with us. During that time while watching Shrek there was a scene where Donkey jumped up on the couch and said, “…and in the morning, we can have WAFFLES!” For some reason, Kevin loved how the word, waffles, sounded and decided at that moment that would be the name of his wiener dog. Years later, he finally got his wiener dog, Waffles, for his 9th birthday. We love her unique name, but it does confuse people during conversations sometimes when we assume they know we’re talking about our dog.”
