Dog’s Dramatic Reaction to a Tiny ‘Paper Cut’ Gets Him Sympathy from Millions of Dog Lovers

Visiting the neighborhood dog park is filled with dangers for the former stray dog Jaqweenie. There’s been a bee sting, a mosquito bite, and then there’s the “great paper cut incident of 2021.”

The video of Jaquweenie’s dramatic moment recently went viral all over again after his mom, Jean Mosher, reposted it with the hashtag #neverforget.

Here is the video of the drama:

Mosher said that she knew something was wrong when she spotted Jaqweenie sitting in a corner of the park all by himself. He was shaking and lifting his foot off the ground and frantically giving it licks. She thought he might have broken or sprained it and concerned people at the dog park gathered around to see if they could help.

Mosher was so worried that she immediately rushed Jaqweenie to the vet. The vet gave him a thorough examination. They checked to see if maybe a knee had popped out of a joint (he has luxating patellas). They checked his vitals (with a cute little blood pressure cuff). But everything seemed okay. So they checked his injured paw one more time and that’s when they spotted a tiny cut.

As Mosher writes in the video, the vets finally discovered “the tiniest cut on his paw. Like so tiny it didn’t even bleed.”

Even though no bandage was needed, Mosher asked the vet to wrap Jaqweenie’s paw to help make him feel better and $150 later they were out the door.

But that wasn’t the end of the drama. Jaqweenie wanted to be carried out of the vet hospital and for the rest of the day he demanded extra attention. Mosher said, “he milked it for all its worth.”

But the little dog deserves it. Mosher revealed that Jaqweenie was a stray for the first year of his life! She adopted Jaqweenie from the shelter several years ago after falling in love with him and his adorable overbite.

After getting home, Mosher shared a humorous video showing Jaqweenie recovering from the terrible paper cut. He must have been feeling better because removed his own bandage and hobbled his way to the kitchen for dinner.

@sharkybobarky So proud of this guy! Any tips for removing the bandage adhesive? #dogsofttiktok #dogstory #doglover #furbaby #fyp #rescue #CandyCrushAllStars ♬ Strong – Kayos Keyid

Jaqweenie has had his share of bad luck incidents when out in nature. There was the terrible bee sting of 2022 and most recently the traumatic mosquito bite of 2023.

The mosquito bite was like the paper cut all over again!

Poor Jaqweenie! With so many nasty accidents to his paws no wonder he wants the extra cuddles and attention.

In her Instagram post of the paper cut incident Mosher summed up her beloved dog’s bravery like this: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “the good lord gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.”
