Frightened Dog with ‘Backwards Legs’ Transforms After Rescue

Cloe was living on the busy streets of Indonesia—if you can even call it living. The poor dog was suffering from severe mange, and her hind legs appeared as though they were stuck on backwards. Her future didn’t look bright, but thankfully, Eli from Street Paws noticed her and took her in.

Eli quickly realized that Cloe was very scared of people, but her biggest concern was Cloe’s “backwards legs.”

Sadly, Cloe’s legs were the result of a birth defect and could not be repaired. However, after doing some research, Eli learned that with better health, Cloe could still live a happy life. With proper food and exercise, Cloe grew stronger and was able to get around on her own. While she still needs help now and then (like when climbing big rocks at the beach), she knows Eli and her rescuers are always there for her.

Eli and Street Paws usually try to find homes for their rescues, but because of Cloe’s disability and to avoid further traumatizing her, they decided to adopt Cloe themselves.

Now, Cloe enjoys beach trips with her pals and family. While she still has some tough days, she’s experiencing more and more moments where she craves cuddles and love. Her story is a heartwarming reminder that it’s never too late for a dog to find a home.
