German Shepherd Fails Service Dog Training Spectacularly

Just like people, some dogs just aren’t cut out for a life of service. Take Ryker for instance. The German Shepherd dog was training to be a service dog at Double H Canine Training Academy but it quickly became apparent Ryker just wasn’t going to pass. In fact, he flunked spectacularly.

The dog training school shared a compilation of hilarious clips showing Ryker’s “epic service dog failure” that demonstrate why Ryker didn’t “make the cut” despite his “giving it his all” with a “goodhearted attempt.”

One issue appears to have been Ryker’s ball obsession. Just look at his reaction to the tennis balls on the walker! And then there are his reactions to the ball being thrown and the ball at the end of the string! He also is very energetic when it comes to tugging. Maybe too much?

Despite Ryker not completing his training, his trainer Zach Janes thinks Ryker is still a very good dog. That’s why Ryker became Janes’ family dog and is “living a very happy life” with them.
