Great-Grandmother Lovingly Knits Holiday Sweaters for 28 Family Members Including Beloved Dog

It was a labor of love. Great-grandmother Doreen Gover knitted 28 matching Christmas sweaters for every member of her family, including their beloved dog.

She spent up to 8 hours a day knitting and began to create the festive sweaters last January. Doreen, 78, said she would knit whenever she had a spare moment “from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed.”

The happy sweaters with reindeer for the boys and snowmen for the girls now adorn three generations of her family and their Springer Spaniel, Cookie.

“I love my family, and I really enjoyed doing something that has made them so happy,” Doreen said. “The girls got snowmen and the boys got reindeer, but some of the girls wanted reindeer. It was just for fun. It was something fun for me to do to pass the time, and it put a big smile on everybody’s face.”
