Husband Finds Stray Dog on a Job and Insists on Bringing Him Home to Family

Over the years, Tracey Ferrin says she’s been the one to surprise her husband with dogs. So when he called her to tell her he had found a stray dog he wanted to bring home she couldn’t say no.

“When your husband tells you for the first time in 20 years that he found a stray and wants to bring it home…you say absolutely,” Ferrin wrote on her TikTok channel.

She elaborated, “I’ve always been the one to surprise him with puppies. Both our dogs were gifts for him. Mater was given to us for free. Babygirl [Sissy] cost us more than I want to admit. With already having two, a third one is a bit of a stretch but I knew when he told me that he wanted the dog that it must be a special dog. No way could I tell him no!

That’s how Buddy came into their lives. Ferrin’s husband had found Buddy at a job he was on. The dog was extremely timid, so timid that he wouldn’t even get up to walk over the front door’s threshold but they could tell right away he was very sweet.

Soon Buddy was getting bathed and showered with attention. Ferrin knew right away how much rescuing Buddy meant to her husband because he had a huge smile on his face.

Buddy also bonded with her son, Noah.

For the first while Buddy felt most comfortable in his crate so the family would visit him there.

@traceydferrin How is he the sweetest most loving thing ever!!!?? Noah has claimed him as his dog. He is coming out of his shell a little bit. He is most confident and comfortable outside which makes sense. #rockyourkindness #buddyferrin #newfamilymember #rescuepuppy #sweetestpuppyever ♬ original sound – Tracey Ferrin

They learned that Buddy is around 8 to 12 months old and suffering from mites (which is easily treated). As Buddy got more comfortable with his new home, he opened up. He’s a “crazy ball” of energy and loves attention. Although Buddy got along with Mater right away, Sissy took a little while longer to warm up to him. But when she realized Buddy wasn’t going anywhere she accepted him. Now the three dogs get along and greet their dad together every day when he comes home from work.

Ferrin says she never envisioned having three dogs but now her family couldn’t imagine life without Buddy in it.
