Family Finds Lost German Shepherd Dog Barked Up Wrong Tree and Got Stuck
Luna’s family launched a search party after the young 11 month old 70-pound German Shepherd went missing from their Lotus, California home recently. But they got a big surprise when they learned where she was found.
Luna went missing on Sunday morning after playing outside with the family’s two other dogs and didn’t return home. She was lost all day and overnight and there was no sign of her until a family friend out searching found her.
Brian Spies, Luna’s dad, and his friends were searching the woods near his home when Luka Bogdanovich spotted something in a pine tree 25 feet up. “I’ll be darned, I see something in the tree…holy cow, that’s the dog,” Luka told news channels.
Fortunately, Brian had an extension ladder to get her and confirmed that, yes, that was his dog high up in the branches. When he arrived Luna looked down at him and wagged her tail but she didn’t make a sound.
Brian said he figured that she chased a squirrel and got stuck. He hopes Luna has “learned her lesson.” We’re hoping she won’t go “barking up the wrong tree” any time soon.
