Man Reunites with Lost Dog at Pet Adoption Event in ‘Christmas Miracle’
After a month of searching for his lost dog, Andrew Sylvester says he has gotten a “Christmas miracle.” This past Halloween Sylvester went to the store and came back home to find his dog, Bear, missing.
He looked everywhere for Bear around his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma but couldn’t find him. Police would later find Bear tied to a tree with a note reading “Find a nice home.” It wasn’t until a month after police had picked Bear up that Sylvester noticed Jenks Animal Welfare was holding an adoption event. Scrolling through the photos he saw a picture of Bear!
He reached out to Jenks Animal Welfare and let them know that he believed that the dog they had named “Cowboy” was Bear. He went down to their event in Jenks. When Bear spotted Sylvester he was overjoyed!
“The joy and excitement from both was extremely touching, and made for a great reunion,” Jenks Animal Welfare wrote on their Facebook page. Sylvester told 2 News, “It’s the best Christmas miracle I could have.”
Jenks Animal Welfare has since microchipped Bear. They sent a message out to every pet parent, “This is a reminder that if you’re missing your loved pet, please don’t give up your search and check all available shelters to see if they are waiting for you there.”
