Mange-Covered Puppy Who Didn’t Want to Be Touched Slowly Comes Around

A starving puppy with severe mange is doing so much better now thanks to dog rescuers who rescued her from the streets on the island of Saipan.

The puppy was covered with raw wounds and curled up in the bushes. When rescuers reached out to touch her she cried out in fear and pain. She was in pitiful shape but Aria Keilbach, founder of Boonie Babies Rescue, was determined to help her.

Little Foot, as the puppy is now named, is a boonie dog. The puppy is one of the many strays who live without homes on the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands and a U.S. commonwealth territory in the Western Pacific.

Boonie dogs are mutts that are specific to the northern Mariana islands and have descended from World War II dogs brought over by American soldiers, Keilbach explained on her TikTok channel.

Little Foot is a descendant of these dogs and her plight is a common sight among the dogs on the island. When Aria Keilbach moved to the island in 2018, she saw so many stray dogs like Little Foot in need of help that she set up Boonie Babies Rescue to help them.

Little Foot was brought back to be treated and fostered but she didn’t like her medicated baths or the attention from her rescuers at first. But she slowly came around.

Now the puppy has a future filled with bright adventures to look forward to.

In a heartwarming update on Little Foot, Keilbach shared new footage of the pup and she’s looking better and better! Her fur is growing back in and she loves getting treats and hanging out with her pals.
