Mastiff Competing in Dog Agility Lumbers Around the Course

Audiences at the Zeus, Rocky Mountain Cluster Dog Show at The National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado got a treat when Zeus, the English Mastiff, took to the agility course.

The large dog takes his time getting around the course but he completes it in his own style. He jumps, he weaves, he gets it done even after the timer goes off.No wonder he’s a crowd favorite!

Viewers thoroughly enjoy watching Zeus’ performance. One viewer commented, “He’s just like, ‘Hey, if this is important to you, then it’s important to me.’”

“As someone who owns this particular breed, I am genuinely impressed,” wrote another. “I can’t imagine the patience that owner must have to motivate this dog to do an agility course even at that pace. Incredible.”

“I’m so glad the judges allowed them to finish their course even though the time buzzer went off,” said another person. “That gives positive reinforcement to this lovely mastiff. Of course, he can’t zip through the course like a little dog, but he persevered and finished with only one knockdown. So fun to see and kudos to the lass who handled and trained him.”

“It’s actually pretty impressive that he clears almost all the jumps at such a leisurely pace,” noted a fan. “It certainly doesn’t hurt that he’s the size of a small horse, but still…”

Still, Zeus manages to impress us with his style!
