Neglected Elderly Dog Has Heartbreaking Reaction to Touch Until He Meets His Mom

An elderly Chihuahua named Hobbs was wandering around the Bronx as a stray before he was found and taken to the local animal control and then rescued by Tails of Love. It soon became clear that the poor neglected dog had no idea how to love or receive love, as he would bark and lunge at anyone who tried to pet him. But Hobbs still caught Katherine’s attention, and she decided to give him a home even though he had a lot of health issues and was anxious and frightened.

Katherine guesses that Hobbs was dumped. And with his untreated torn leg ligaments and fractured teeth, his previous owners neglected him. But most of all, Hobbs was desperate for love but didn’t know how to react.

With lots of patience and care, Hobbs learned he was safe. He may still be guarded with other people, but he loves his mom and adores being held and snuggled by her. He’s also okay with being babysitted by the cats.

Then, the Humane Society reached out to Katherine about another dog who is almost an exact twin of Hobbs! That’s when Little Nacho Supreme, another senior Chihuahua, joined Katherine and Hobbs.

To see Hobbs go from snarling and recoiling from touch to wanting daily cuddles warms our hearts. Now, he not only has the love of his mom, but also his pal Little Nacho and Katherine’s cats too!
