Neglected Mobile Home Park Dog Finds Wonderful New Home
A small dog named Chata, who was being neglected at her home, was rescued by a caring community. She had been roaming the streets of a mobile home park in California, where her owner failed to provide for her. Concerned park residents stepped in, giving her food and water.
The residents were worried about Chata’s longterm well being. Realizing that Chata needed more than temporary help, they reached out to Mary Watkins, a local cat rescuer, who then contacted The Animal Rescue Center of California.
From the moment Chata met her rescuers, she captured their hearts. She was friendly, adored people and other dogs, and loved being petted. Despite her loving nature, her rescuers were puzzled when no one came forward to adopt her.
Enter Larry and Marge. The couple had lost their dog over a year ago, but they were not looking to adopt another one. But when Larry met Chata that was it. It’s “hard not to fall for this little enchanter,” ARC wrote.
There was one last hurdle for Chata’s adoption – the couple lived in New York. No worries, however, as Kirk, who is cofounder of ARC, brought Chata to them himself. Now Chata is doted on and living by a lake where she’s learning how to swim and loving her new life.
