Pair of German Shepherds Left Behind By Family Looking For Homes

Zena and Skye weren’t thinking they would be without a family. But the two German Shepherd dogs were given away when the elderly German couple who owned them left South Africa. The two dogs ended up with a family who did not have the means to care for them.

Thankfully, the family knew they couldn’t care for the dogs and did the responsible thing by reaching out to SideWalk Specials for help.

SideWalk Specials came to pick the two female dogs up and, although they seemed quite timid and afraid, the rescue says the 2-year-old dogs are friendly with both humans and dogs (cats unknown).

SidWalk Specials also advises pet parents to plan ahead if you are moving. “If you’re emigrating, make a plan for your loyal pet, giving them away to an unknown fate is both unacceptable & cowardly.”

If you can provide one or both of these sweet dogs a forever home please contact Sidewalk Specials or make a donation to help them care for the dogs while they look for a new family.
