Papillon Dances His Way Into People’s Hearts At World Championship Freestyle Competition

Border Collies and Belgian Malinois are often the featured dance partners at canine freestyle competitions. So we love it when we see other breeds taking centre stage. Unkas is a Papillon from Russia who performs with his handler Irina Efremova.

During the FCI Dog Dance World Championship held in Moscow in 2016 they competed in the freestyle final, where only the ten best participants were competing.

The routine is a joy to watch. Unkas covers lots of the floor despite his small size and displays all the teamwork, artistry and athleticism needed for the making of a champion. Unkas and Irina earned 4th place on this day, but they certainly won over the crowd with their enthusiasm and creativity!
