Pug Mix Puppies Abandoned at Elementary School Spend Night in the Cold
Three Pug mix puppies are in safe hands after being abandoned at an elementary school and spending the night sleeping outside in the cold.
The Animal Rescue Center Of California (ARC) got a call from the principal at the school in Mecca, California and went out to rescue the pups.
Kirk, who is with ARC, drove out to the town right away and spotted two of the puppies running around in the school yard. They were hungry but timid which meant catching them would take longer than Kirk originally thought.
Kirk wanted to catch them all quickly before it got dark and coyotes began roaming the area. So he set out a trap with food but the puppies weren’t so easy to lure over.
Thankfully, Ivan, the school’s custodian, had spent some time with the puppies was able to help Kirk. After several unsuccessful attempts, Ivan helped Kirk “shoo” the puppies into the school where they could be easily caught.
Audrey, Chica, Milly are around 6 months old and appear to be “Chugs” (Chihuahua/Pug mixes). To adopt a dog or support The Animal Rescue Center Of California (ARC) visit their website.
