How to Make Pumpkin Spice ‘Mocha’ Latte for Dogs

Huskies Kira and Memphis are “so ready” for their mom’s special pumpkin spice “mocha” lattes for dogs!

Gone to the Snow Dog’s recipe takes advantage of fall flavors like pumpkin, cinnamon, and carob (as substitute for chocolate because we all know how toxic it is for dogs).

Ingredients include: pure pumpkin, unsweetened apple sauce, unsweetened coconut milk (or water as substitute), whipping cream, cinnamon (optional), little bit of ginger (optional) and carob (again, optional). DO NOT add nutmeg. It’s toxic to dogs.

Kira and Memphis love watching mom mixing all the ingredients all together. They really perk up when mom brings out the whipping cream. Check out the video for the full recipe:

The treat is given a “thumbs up” for Kira and Memphis. Gone to the Snow Dogs has other great pumpkin treat recipes. Check out the recipe for Pumpkin Pie for Dogs and Jack-o-Lantern cookies for dogs.

As Gone to the Snow Dogs says, this is only meant as a treat!

She also cautions that “I’m neither a vet nor an animal nutritionist, so it’s advisable to consult with your own authority when trying new foods, and also to ensure that your dog’s home cooked diet is balanced & includes all of the nutrients that are necessary for your dog’s health. As with ALL treats, feed in moderation, and don’t feed anything to your dogs that you don’t feel comfortable feeding them. These are treats, not meal replacements.”
