Puppies Hiding in Narrow Crawlspace Saved by Fearless Rescuer

It’s a good thing these puppies have a rescuer who is “absolutely fearless” otherwise they would still be trying to survive living under an abandoned home. Stray Rescue of St. Louis found a mama and her puppies hiding under a home. They managed to rescue the mom and two puppies but the other puppies were hiding in a narrow crawlspace under the house.

“If you have claustrophobia, this rescue is not for you,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis explained in their description of the video. “We found an open window to a crawlspace that we saw puppies run into. We already had Mom and two puppies safe, so the rescue gods made sure we were in the right place at the right time. Donna says ‘OK’ and just climbs in head-first, no hesitation!”

Donna is familiar with getting her hands dirty at numerous abandoned houses throughout the city to rescue dogs. The derelict homes become refuges for abandoned and lonely dogs and shelters for pregnant ones. But even with all her rescue experience, this one was challenging.

“There was not enough room to even be on hands and knees, she had to army crawl under there, and it went so far back. The puppies knew the space well, but we didn’t! Any time they saw our hands or just a shadow of our fingers they would run so fast,” says Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

“The video looks like we had more opportunities than we actually did, and we edited out cuss words, don’t worry,” the rescue continues.

“I’m not sure I’m going to do this,” Donna says in the video. But she squeezes and scuffles around in the dirt but she manages to reach the pups…just barely.

With all the pups safe, the rescue team let out a big sigh of relief. Donna literally collapses in exhaustion after she crawls out. “Donna – you are absolutely fearless! If she knows an animal needs help, her brain just goes on autopilot,” Stray Rescue reveals. “We are pleased to tell you that we are very dirty, but we have 6 perfect, chubby babies and one wonderful mama all safe and sound!”
