Puppy Crawls On Belly To Rescuer’s Car After She Is Rescued From Derelict Home
When Donna with Stray Rescue of St. Louis first approached a puppy living in a derelict home, the black dog was huddled in a corner, trying to be invisible behind all of the debris.
“Just 10 months old and living all alone. Surviving in the shadows, it’s safer to be alone than to ask the wrong person for help,” the rescue group wrote on YouTube. They understood the young dog’s reluctance to run into their arms.
But Donna persisted in trying to win Kukala over with sausages and gentle words. Kukala chose not to budge. She just looked up at Donna as if wondering what to do. She didn’t move when Donna placed a leash over her neck – that is, until Donna tried to move her.
Then, once outside, Kukala lay down in the grass, again unsure what to do when Donna tried to coax her to the car. But then the most touching thing happened. The young dog opted to crawl on her belly, taking a leap of faith that the strangers would lead her somewhere safe.
Her rescuers have promised Kukala that she doesn’t have to worry any more. “We can’t wait to show you toys, treats, puppy friends, and all the love you’ve been missing. You’re so worthy, little one,” they wrote. She is so worth it. We know they will deliver on their promise to her. To help support Stray Rescue of St. Louis, visit their website.
