Good Samaritan Finds Puppy with Eyes and Mouth Super-glued Shut
A tiny 8-month-old dog survived an unspeakable act of cruelty thanks to a Good Samaritan who found her laying by the side of the road and rushed her to hospital.
The dog, now named Glory, was found with her eyes and mouth super-glued shut early in the morning in Oaklawn, near Wichita, Kansas. She also had bad bruising on her abdomen.
The person who found her first thought she had been hit by a car, but “upon closer examination quickly realized the extent of the situation and rushed her to the emergency vet.
Beauties and the Beasts, Inc. shared Glory’s story on Facebook along with a plea for information:
“She is just a baby maybe 8 months old jack russell/parsons terrier and full of love and kisses despite the terrifying ordeal she has been through.
“This sweet baby didn’t ask to be born into a world where innocent animals depend on ‘humans’ to love and care for them. She didn’t ask to be left in the hands of someone that chose to intentionally hurt her and left her for dead…”
“Found in the early morning hours laying on the side of the road located in Oaklawn a subdivision of Wichita Kansas [on February 26, 2018], her finder had quickly realized this little girls eyes and mouth had been superglued shut and rushed her to the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita for immediate care.
“Upon examination Dr Alex was in disbelief of this heinous act of cruelty. It is speculated she may have been in this condition for 24-48 hours. She has ulcerations on her eyes with sight vision and a tear in her lip and large bruising to her abdomen, she is lucky to be alive and expected to make a full recovery.”
The rescue now wants to help to bring justice to Glory and catch her abuser.
“Do you know who did this? This was an intentional act and someone who is capable of harming an innocent little dog is extremely dangerous, they will continue this pattern of abuse on helpless victims,” they wrote.
“She has no voice and cannot speak for herself. You are her only hope.”
Beauties and the Beasts is offering a $3000.00 reward (and counting) for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this disgraceful act of cruelty. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Sedgwick County Animal Control at 316-660-7070.
They also encouraged everyone to speak out when they see any act of cruelty: “See something, say something. Silence is deadly.”
