Puppy Left Outside Shelter In Cardboard Box is the Happiest Dog Now
A few months ago, surveillance footage out front of Dog Rescue Shelter Mladenovac, Serbia recorded a sad sight. A man wearing a headlamp was carrying a box and approached the path outside the shelter. He dropped the box on the ground and then ran away. Inside was a 3-month old puppy! The puppy was all alone until morning. He didn’t move out of the box the entire night.
Milan, who runs the shelter, went outside to fetch the scared puppy. He explains, “In Serbia, many people abandon puppies everywhere.” Thankfully, the puppy’s owner chose to drop him off in a place where he at least had a chance of surviving. Many times Milan rescues puppies from the woods or roadsides where tragedy can strike.
The puppy, now named Meda, did get his second chance. Milan says Meda is a very happy and playful pup. Such a cute puppy didn’t have to wait too long to find a family. Five months after he was abandoned, Meda now lives in Germany with a loving family.
