Rescue Puppy Abandoned in Box Finds Joy Despite Unique Way of Walking

Debbie Pearl’s rescue, The Unstoppable Ranch, received a call about a little dog found in a box, covered in maggots and fleas. When they picked her up, it was clear that Gaby was at death’s door. They rushed her to the vet, who saved her life.

As Gaby began to recover, they noticed that she couldn’t stand or walk properly. Further examination revealed she has a neurological condition, likely the reason she was abandoned. At first they thought it might be cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition that Matilda, a dog at The Asher house, has. But Gaby has a cyst near her cerebellum, causing her abnormal gait. Despite this, she has made remarkable progress and is now thriving with her doggie friends. And when people see her unusual way of walking they find it adorable.

Today, Gaby is a happy and resilient member of Debbie’s Unstoppable Dogs—a pack of a dozen dogs with disabilities who live and love life together at The Unstoppable Ranch.
