Rescued Belgian Malinois with Neurological Condition Is Getting Stronger Every Day
Janey is a Belgian Malinois that wobbled her way right into Lee Asher’s heart, much like a dog named Matilda did. And like Matilda, Janey came to the Tacoma Humane Society with cerebellar hypoplasia.
Janey was picked up as a stray and at first Animal Control thought that she was reacting to some kind of toxin, but they soon realized she had CH. It’s a neurological condition in which the cerebellum — the part of the brain that coordinates movement — is smaller than usual or not completely developed. As result of this brain condition, dogs like Janey have difficulty walking.
Janey has a more severe case of CH than Matilda but she is just as loving. Janey is doing better already since she came to the Asher House and she’s making incredible progress as Lee shared in a recent video. Janey is so sweet and loves to play with the pack and get as many cuddles as she can! As Lee says, she has a beautiful spirit.
In the video below, Lee meets Janey at the Humane Society, and as you can see, she had much more difficulty standing up.
She really is doing much better now that she’s at the Asher House.
