Ring Cameras Catch Man Abusing Puppy, Large Reward Being Offered For Information

Multiple Ring cameras captured video of an attack on a defenceless puppy that has animal lovers outraged and prompted a best-selling author to offer a large cash reward for information to help authorities identify and catch the man responsible.

Early Monday morning (on March 28, 2022) homeowners in the Southeast D.C. neighborhood near Pomeroy Rd. and Sheridan Rd. were awakened by the sound of a puppy crying.

At least two homeowners captured video of the incident via their Ring doorbell cameras. In video posted to Ring and released by WUSA9, a man in a hoody is seen picking up his puppy over his head and throwing the dog to the ground and then kicking him/her.

The newscast video contains footage of the incident. Warning the video is disturbing.

One of the neighbors whose Ring camera caught the violent act on video said she cried when she saw it. People in the area are hoping the man is caught. One dog owner told WUSA9 reporter Evan Koslof, “If you can’t love your pet, you shouldn’t have one.”

Author Don Winslow is offering a $20,000 cash reward towards the identification, arrest and conviction of the man responsible. “I am offering $20,000 cash for the name of the sick and deprived individual who did this to this dog,” he tweeted on March 29, 2022. He continued, “Someone in SE WASHINGTON D.C. KNOWS THIS IS. THIS PERSON MUST BE IDENTIFIED AND THIS DOG RESCUED.”

An additional $2500 has been added to the reward by an anonymous person.

Humane Rescue Alliance is investigating and asks that if anyone in the DC area recognizes the man and/or the dog, they can call 202-723-5730. Further details on the incident are included in their Facebook post from March 29, 2022.
