Senior Shih Tzu Close to Being Put Down Rescued Just In Time

When Lee Asher first spotted Joe at the Marion County Animal Services shelter he knew he had to come back for the senior Shih Tzu. The dog was not in good physical condition – poor heart, blind, neurological issues, extremely bad periodontal disease and more. The veterinarian determined Joe’s quality of life would be badly impacted living at the shelter so it would be more humane to put him down if he wasn’t rescued.

But fortunately for Joe, Lee swooped in and rescued him before that could happen!

Joe will now live at the Asher House for his remaining days where he will be loved and looked after!
